Apple Picking '09

Apple Picking abundance

Every year we head up to North Scituate to pick apples at Sunset Orchards. We've been going with John & Tati since the boys have been babies. Then Sara came along a year later and she joined the crew too.

This year John P and Jesse didn't go with us. John P was busy working and Jesse wasn't feeling so great so he chose to hang at home. We brought him home apple cider, which he loves, so he was just as happy lazing about and still getting his cider fix.

Because of all the rain we had this summer, the apple crop this year was amazing. I've never seen so many apples on one tree. The orchard also has peaches and pumpkins too.

We were there for these babies.....

John likes to act like he's 12 again.

What is it with men and boobs??

Please don't answer that.

Nice! I am very excited for my first apple-picking adventure of the season. Of course followed by an apple bake-off extravaganza! great site!

Apple picking is so fun and I love the smell...picking apples in Montana just isn't the same as on the east coast.Looks like you and the fam had a great time!

Thank you for your kind comment on my blog.

I have never been to an apple orchard. I cannot imagine the heaven that must be. One of these days I'm going to follow in my Grampy's footsteps and pick Cortland apples in Maine in September. Sniff, sniff. I love your stories and photo journalism Lisa. You are truly a blessing.

You are a beautiful photographer. I love the first two. Spectacular stuff! They look like they belong in a fall magazine!

Looks like lots of fun. Maybe me and the boyf. will have to go!

I love your pictures of the apple picking. It brought back a lot of memories. I live in Upstate New York and when the kids were young (quite a few years ago) we went every year. We get our fill of apples and I love baking up all the goodies, like apple pies and apple cider and more. You have a great site. I would like to link back to it if you don't mind from my blog.
